Can I rent a child car seat to use with my rental car at Otopeni Airport?

Yes — and it's simpler than adding one at the rental desk. You book us before you fly, we deliver the seat to the car rental pickup area at Henri Coandă Airport (OTP) before your arrival. When you collect your car from Autonom, Klass Wagen, Sixt, Avis, Pricecarz, Car Hunt or Tiriac Rental, the seat is already there. ISOFIX compatible with all EU rental fleet vehicles.

Is it cheaper to rent from CooChirie than from Sixt, Avis or Autonom at the airport?

Often, yes. Car rental agencies at OTP add a car seat as a paid extra, and you don't get to choose the model — it's usually an older seat from the fleet rotation, with no guarantee it's been cleaned properly. We charge 35 RON/day (~8 EUR) for a certified, ADAC-tested, steam-cleaned Graco, Peg Perego, Cybex or Britax Römer seat, with free self-pickup and return at our Otopeni office — just 3km from OTP airport. We also deliver for free in Otopeni and Ilfov.

Do you deliver to Băneasa Airport (BBU) as well?

Yes. Henri Coandă Otopeni Airport (OTP) is just 3km from our base, and Băneasa–Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (BBU) is 11km away. We deliver to both Bucharest airports. Book 24–48h in advance. We coordinate delivery around your actual flight arrival time via WhatsApp so you're not waiting and we're not early. No extra charge for airport delivery in Ilfov.

I'm driving to Sinaia, Brașov or the Black Sea. Do I need a car seat for the whole road trip?

Yes — Romanian law requires a certified car seat for all children under 135 cm or under 12 years, on every journey, every road. On DN1 to Sinaia (110 km from OTP), the mountain road to Brașov (170 km), the A2 to Constanța and the Black Sea (225 km), and the Transfăgărășan, police checkpoints are common and fines apply. Our daily rate covers your full road trip — rent for the same number of days as your car hire.

How do I get the car seat — delivery or pickup?

Your choice. Free self-pickup and return at our office in Otopeni (Strada Libertății 14-16, just 3km from OTP airport) — useful if you have your rental car already and prefer to collect on the way out of the city. Or choose free delivery to OTP airport terminal or car rental pickup zone, to BBU Băneasa, or to your Bucharest hotel or Airbnb. We'll show you how to install it correctly before you leave.

Are the rental car seats safe and sanitized?

Yes. All seats meet R129 i-Size European safety standards and are ADAC-tested — the most rigorous independent child seat test in Europe, covering crash safety, installation ease, ergonomics and materials. We professionally steam-clean at 100°C with baby-safe products after every single rental. Unlike car rental agencies where the seat is one of hundreds of accessories, child safety is our only product.
